This is another one of those designers I would probably come across at some point but was shown to me in the RCA Yearbook. George Fereday‘s use of foam cord to make the lightshades adds a certain depth to a normal constant thickness shade, because of this the light plays across the shade.
He has further added to softness by making the shades into a curvatious design really softening the light being projected into the room. This is not the only thing he does but I just really like them, take a look at a couple more below.
