During our recent visit to Sweden’s glass area we saw many small individual glassworks but there was one in particular that stood out. Bergdala Glassworks located in Hovmantorp near Lessebo, was built in 1889 and as with most handmade manufacturing facilities of the time it was very much a community based workshop. Even today you still get the sense that this is a very family and community driven company and in fact the whole glass area had that warm and cosy feel to it.

So what was the attraction with Bergdala? After travelling to a few of the other glassworks in the area that has very similar products it was refreshing to see so many designs that we hadn’t seen before, so much so that we walked out with a few purchases although we’re still thinking about ordering some more.

Time to showoff the pictures.

Gorgeous pieces aren’t they? So tempted to buy so much more but we had already walked away with quite a few goodies which we’ll share soon so stay tuned.

First image from Bergdala and the rest by us.

      Hej Frank,

Thanks for checking out the site. There were so many beautiful things there it was incredibly difficult not to walk away with more.
